Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience:
- Must be able to titrate drips.
- Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips.
- Previous travelers may use cumulative experience toward eligibility requirements.
Unit Details:
- Cardiac/tele cardiopulmonary unit caring for cardiac patients, CR bands, post-cath, AMI, post-op lung surgery patients after CCU, respiratory failure, chest tubes, pacemakers, and post-PCI patients; no stepdown patients, sheath pulls, or art lines.
- Occasional titratable cardiac drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Integrilin, Heparin, Ativan, Lasix, and Nitro up to 50 mcg.
- Uses Philips telemetry monitors.
- Uses CPAP and BiPAP; RT manages.
- Charge nurse available 24/7; days does not take patients, nights may take a patient assignment.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Every other weekend; weekend shifts are Saturday/Sunday.
- Works holiday rotation with permanent staff.
Floating Requirements:
- Floats to any MedSurg/Tele unit.
Special Requests:
- Artificial nails are not allowed for travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated.
- If candidate worked at a permanent facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from that permanent facility.
- At least 1 reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job being applied to.
