Required Skills/Experience: First-time travelers considered if they have strong experience. Telemetry experience, CIWA, BiPAP, central line maintenance/management, tube/drain management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and IV skills.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Chest tube management, trach care, and home vent experience preferred.

Required Credentials: If you have a multistate license, you will be required to complete a 1-time 6-hour suicide prevention training according to WA state regulations.

Special Requests: Any RTO or special requests not included on your application will not be considered. You can only have 1 active application for the same position (same unit and shift at the same facility). Example: if you apply for day shift, you can also apply for night shift on the same unit and facility, but you cannot apply for another day shift position on the same unit and facility. RTO: up to 7 days; additional days must be emailed to the nurse manager.

Unit Details: Mixed acuity MS/PCU non-specialty unit caring for respiratory failure, sepsis, GIB, bariatric post-op, diabetic, CHF, COPD, PNA, acute SNF, and TIA/stroke rule-out patients. RN ratios: 1:4 PCU, 1:5 MS/MT. CNA ratio 1:10; assists with blood sugar checks, vitals, toileting, bathing, and feeding. Conventional PPE use; N95s, CAPRs, and PAPRs available. Common medications include Cardizem, Dopamine, heparin, nitro, Lasix, and Dilaudid (comfort care/PCA). If titrating constantly, assignment may be reconsidered for ICU or patient reassignment. Unit support includes a charge nurse (usually free floating), educator during the day, SWAT nurse for PICCs and transporting patients to procedures, RT 24/7, hospitalist 24/7, OT/PT/ST on days, and phlebotomy. Uses Alaris and Pyxis.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. No self-scheduling; work with manager. 6-week schedule periods are released 4 weeks before the start of the schedule. No on call. Holiday expectations vary; minimum 1 summer and 1 winter holiday. Work with nurse manager.

Floating Requirements: Float to ED Holding (all service levels within scope and below) and overflow areas; no specific MS units. Travelers float first.
