Additional Details:
References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years. Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If clinician has questions, please email the AM. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Administer chemo.
- Telemetry.
- IV starts.
- Interpret/manage dysrhythmias.
- Considering BMT/Heme/Med Oncology experience and/or strong Med Surg experience.
- Must have 2 Years Experience and one previous travel assignment or one month per diem.
Required Credentials:
- For DC locations – You must have DC license in hand, but certain units accept pending (See JD). MedStar will usually accept a later booking date if you have applied for DC licensure.
- For MD locations – You must have compact license or MD license.
Unit Details:
- Adult and geriatric patient population.
- Hematology/oncology blood and marrow transplant unit caring for hematological diseases, acute leukemia, multiple myeloma, and general medical-surgical patients.
- Chemotherapy and blood and marrow transplant care.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Rotating day/night shifts: Night 18:30 7:00 / Day 7:30 18:00.
- Every other weekend.
- The nurse's initial schedule will be made based off of the needs of the unit. For future schedules, the nurse will be able to give preferences and the manager will create/balance the schedule accordingly with the needs of the unit and the requests of the other nurses.
Floating Requirements:
- Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.
