Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience:
- 2+ years of recent PCU experience required
- Adult and geriatric patient population
- Common cases include burns, plastic/reconstructive surgery, urology, GYN, ENT, and oral/maxillofacial surgeries
- Special procedures include burn dressings, flap checks, and leech therapy
- Pyxis medication system
- IV therapy/Phlebotomy, Arterial line management, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, Starting and maintaining IVs, Gastrointestinal, Feeding tube care and management, Medications, Heparin Protocols, PCA, Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry - on the unit monitoring, Telemetry - remote monitoring, Use of Rapid Response/Code teams, Professional Topics and Skills, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Wound Care/Wound Vac, Endocrine/Metabolic, IV insulin protocols, Titration of Insulin drips, Work Settings, MS/Tele, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, Respiratory, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Oxygen administration, Oxygen tanks, Neurological/Psychiatric, Substance Withdrawal, Plastics, Surgical drains
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Experience with similar patient population preferred
- Previous charge RN experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
Required Credentials:
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Government issued photo ID.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Every other/third weekend required
Floating Requirements:
- Floating within OSU required
- Will be required to float to different units within the OSU organization as needed
Special Requests:
- References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years
- You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing
- Cannot apply to any Ohio State University facilities if you have an active application to any of the James Cancer Hospital & Research facilities
