Required Skills/Experience:
- In addition to meeting the unit experience requirements, your work experience needs to reflect at least 12 months (1 year) of uninterrupted experience working in the same unit/specialty you’re applying to.
- Will consider experience in the following areas on a case-by-case basis: PACU, ICU, Telemetry, Cath Lab, Surgery Center.
Special Requests:
- Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit. If multiple shifts are posted, only apply to your preferred shift.
- The Cardiac Observation Unit provides pre- and post-procedure care for Cath Lab patients with high-risk, high-acuity patients. Bedside procedures performed in COU include transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) and cardioversions (CV).
- Daily responsibilities include admitting patients; prepping patients for Cath procedures (charting pre-procedure checklist, IV start, access preparation); prepping patients for cardioversions (CV) and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE); recovering patients following Cath who had conscious sedation; sedating, circulating, and documenting bedside procedures (CV and TEE); and discharging patients (teaching, documentation, and physical discharge).
Shift & Scheduling:
- Varies: 3 x 12s: Days (0600-1830, 0700-1930, 0800-2030).
- Call requirements have begun and now include Saturday and Sunday.
- Call is on a rotational basis, approximately once every six weeks, but may be as frequent as once every 4 weeks.
- Call includes Saturday from 0700-1700 and Sunday from 0700-1400.
