Required Skills/Experience:
- Able to read and interpret fetal strips.
Special Requests:
- Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.
- Each employment history entry must include detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level if applicable, patient ratio, and teaching facility.
- Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months, including full-time, part-time, or PRN status with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
- At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you are applying to.
- Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.
- RTO needed upfront; additional RTO will not be approved, including after submission.
Unit Details:
- Ratios follow AWHONN guidelines: 1:1 for pit, mag, or insulin drips; 1:3 couplet care.
- Patient population includes mainly obstetric and neonatal patients, including hypertension and GDM; the unit tries not to deliver patients under 36 weeks.
- RNs titrate pitocin, insulin, and magnesium drips.
- RNs read their own strips.
- Uses Philips monitors, TraceView/PIP, and Meditech.
- OB/neonatologist and anesthesia are not in house 24/7.
- Includes a locked unit.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Every other weekend.
- Every other holiday.
- Call/standby depends on staffing.
- No self-scheduling; block scheduling allowed.
Floating Requirements:
- Will float to MedSurg, ER, or wherever in the hospital the nurse is needed; permanent staff is usually first to float.
