    Required Skills/Experience: Strong L&D experience - need to do cervical exams, antepartum and labor, amnio infusion, epidurals, fetal monitoring, IVs, Pitocin. Post-partum experience: mom and baby beyond the transition period next 24 hours. Basic breastfeeding. Experience receiving and being comfortable with couplet care once mom and baby are stable.

    Required Credentials: Fetal monitoring requirement may also be met with Relia's module. If you have a multistate license, you will be required to complete a 1-time 6-hour suicide prevention training according to WA state regulations.

    Special Requests: Any RTO or special requests not included on your application will not be considered. RTO approval goes through manager. You can only have 1 active application for the same position (same unit & shift at the same facility). Example: if you apply for day shift, you can also apply for night shift on the same unit and facility, but you cannot apply for another day shift position on the same unit & facility.

    Unit Details: Level II Perinatal Center caring for patients 32 weeks and above. Hypertension, magnesium administration, medication management for substance abuse, a high number of low-risk patients needing intermittent monitoring, epidurals, fetal monitoring, and antepartum care if continued fetal monitoring is needed. Stable post-labor patients and babies transition to Mother/Baby; 32-34 week babies go to NICU. 175-200 deliveries per month. Patient ratios follow AWHONN and NANN guidelines: 1:1 for active labor and 1:2 for non-active laboring. HUGS Security system, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing used on the unit. No CNAs on the unit. Surgery tech support M-F 0600-1500. Phlebotomy is available. NICU attends if 34 weeks or less and if needed. RT, hospitalist, and laborist/OBGYN support available 24/7. Midwife and Family Practice Group support available.

    Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. No call. Holiday expectations: one major, one minor. Schedule made in 3-week increments.

    Floating Requirements: Will only float to areas where they are competent. Will not float to the START unit. Traditional travelers will float between L&D and Mother/Baby.
