Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: 1-2 years of experience as an RNFA/CNOR required; CVOR optional.
Required Credentials: Completion of an RNFA program that meets AORN standards.
Preferred Credentials: AORN membership preferred.
Unit Details: Organizes and facilitates patient care in the Operating Room and coordinates care between the surgeon, anesthesiologist, and room staff. Functions as a first assistant during surgical incision, excision, and repair of pathology throughout the perioperative period for procedures within granted privileges. Participates in preoperative assessment and planning for selected surgical patients in collaboration with the healthcare team. Performs circulating and scrubbing duties. Handles and dissects tissues in collaboration with the surgeon; clamps blood vessels, coagulates bleeding points, ligates vessels, sutures muscle, fascia, subcutaneous, and skin tissue, places drains, and assists with cannulation and decannulation procedures as indicated. Assists with transferring patients to and from the operating room, positioning, prepping, draping, and preparing instruments according to physician preference and scheduled procedure. Department includes intraoperative patient care and may include perfusion services, inpatient and/or outpatient services, and other operating room support functions; does not include PACU, anesthesia functions, pre-op holding, or central sterile functions.
Shift & Scheduling: Mon-Fri with after-hours call. Call includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
Floating Requirements: You may be required to float to Adventist Health locations within 30 miles.
