An interview may not be available prior to offer. Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility. References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. 50-mile radius rule. Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
Unit Details: No clinical involvement. Patient ratios: Days 1:4, nights 1:5. Adults and pediatric patients; common diagnoses include UTI, altered mental status, pneumonia, and COPD. No titration of drips. Electrolytes, hypertensive medications, and diuretics may infuse at set rates; hypertensive/hypotensive medications are not titrated, and continuous diuretic infusions are rare. Support staff: 2 nurse aides on days and 1 nurse aide on nights. Pediatric patients are not managed by the hospitalist; the pediatrician is on call, not in house. No vents on Med Surg/Peds; occasional BiPAP is managed primarily by RT. ICU monitors telemetry and reads strips; Med Surg/Peds nurses apply telemetry to patients.
Shift & Scheduling: 7-7 day/night rotate with self-scheduling. Weekends as needed. No holiday requirement.
Floating Requirements: First to float. ED/ICU for 1:1s as needed.
