Required Skills/Experience:

• Must meet experience requirements within the 3 most recent years. However, must have at least 1 year of CURRENT specialty experience for a clinical pass.
• MS/Tele.
• Telemetry.
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias.
• Telemetry monitoring.
• Use of Rapid Response Teams.
• Feeding tube care and management.
• IV therapy/Phlebotomy.
• Blood Product Administration.
• Central line blood draw.
• Peripheral line care/management.
• PICC line management.
• Starting IVs.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Oncology experience preferred; will train to oncology patients.

Required Credentials:

• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

Special Requests:

• Cannot apply to any James Cancer Hospital & Research facilities if you have an active application to any of the Ohio State University facilities.

Unit Details:

• Acute leukemia and hematology unit caring primarily for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients.
• Adult and geriatric patient population.
• Medical unit with a high number of blood products, IV antibiotics, and electrolytes.
• Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls prevention.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Variable weekends based on unit needs.
• Self-schedule requests accepted to accommodate preferred schedules before finalizing.
• First week orients Mon-Fri on day shift.
• If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on department needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time.

Floating Requirements:

• Floats to other MedSurg Oncology units.
