Required Skills/Experience:

• Competency with arterial lines.

Required Credentials:

• Required to pass a Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG exam during onboarding.
• Required to pass an open-book orientation exam with a minimum score of 90%.

Special Requests:

• Interview may not be available prior to offer.
• Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months.
• Cannot be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit-associated facility, including CHI or Dignity.
• Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.
• Block scheduling will not be approved unless it is weekends only.
• Travel pairs requiring shared care or the same schedule will not be approved.
• RTO must be submitted upfront and is limited to 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract. Additional RTO will not be approved after submission.

Unit Details:

• Adult PCU caring for cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer, vascular, sepsis, adult respiratory, stroke, post-stent, post-pacemaker placement, and renal failure patients.
• RNs titrate heparin, nitro, dopamine, Cardizem, amiodarone, and insulin drips.
• High-flow respiratory equipment is used on the unit.
• RNs read and interpret their own telemetry strips.
• Equipment includes overhead lifts in half the rooms, portable lifts, vein finders, and a bladder scanner.
• Patient population includes primarily Hispanic and Somalian cultural populations.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Every other weekend.
• Minimum of 2 holidays that fall within the contract time frame.
• If placed on call and called back in, arrival is required within 30 minutes.

Floating Requirements:

• Must float to Med Surg or ICU to take PCU-acuity patients.
