    Additional Information

    Required Skills/Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of operating room experience, with at least 1-2 years in cardiac surgery. Proficiency in first-assist techniques and sterile field management.

    Preferred Skills/Experience: Demonstrated expertise in congenital cardiac surgery is highly preferred.

    Required Credentials: Completion of an accredited RNFA program.

    Special Requests: Travel pairs are not accepted.

    Unit Details: Provides surgical first-assist support for congenital cardiac procedures under the supervision of the operating surgeon. Cares for pediatric and adult patients with congenital heart defects. Assists with tissue handling, wound closure, and hemostasis during congenital cardiac surgeries. Participates in preoperative assessment and preparation, postoperative wound management, recovery monitoring, patient education, and multidisciplinary rounds. Partners with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and operating room staff; may mentor nursing staff on congenital cardiac procedures and assistive techniques.
