Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: In addition to meeting the unit experience requirements, your work experience needs to reflect at least 12 months (1 year) of uninterrupted experience working in the same unit/specialty you’re applying to. ER and Med Surg experience required.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience with vents, titratable drips, mixing medications, and patient hygiene preferred.

Special Requests: Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit. If multiple shifts are posted, only apply to your preferred shift. Blocked scheduling may be accommodated.

Unit Details: ICU patient total care with ventilators, titratable drips, and hygiene care.

Shift & Scheduling: No call required. Holidays required.

Floating Requirements: Floating to ER and Med Surg departments required. A float log is kept in the ICU with float rotation, though the house supervisor or director may override the float book in certain situations, such as sending the nurse with the most ER experience when ER is very short. When floating to ER, float nurses do not take a patient assignment and instead help answer call lights, pass meds, transport patients, start IVs, and draw blood. When floating to Med Surg, the nurse may take a full assignment of up to 6 medsurg patients or act as an aide for 12 patients.
