Required Skills/Experience:
- Must have experience from a 30 bed or greater PICU.
- Manager will consider candidates with only PICU experience.
- Ventilator management required.
- ECMO; traveler will not be responsible for running the ECMO circuit.
- Mechanical support (VADs).
- CRRT; travelers will not be expected to care for these patients.
- RA lines, pacemaker wires, and chest tubes.
- Patient population includes congenital heart disease, pre- and post-surgical patients, heart failure, heart and lung transplants, and pulmonary hypertension. -Note: 2 years of CVPICU or PICU exp required- HARD STOP REQUIREMENT: 2 years experience in a pediatric hospital -Required Skills: IV therapy/Phlebotomy, Arterial line management, Central line blood draw, Central Line/Implanted Line Care, PICC line management, Respiratory, Assist/manage intubation, BiPAP/CPAP management/maintenance, Care of Ventilated Patient, Care/maintenance of acute airway, End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), Management of Chest Tubes, Suctioning (ETT, NT), Tracheostomy care, Ventilator Management, Cardiovascular, Hemodynamic monitoring, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Medications/Emergency Medications, Continuous Sedation, IV vasopressors, Pediatric Dosage Calculations, Infectious Disease, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Work Settings, PICU, Additional Skills, do NOT pass for any missing requirements, See Special Equipment
Preferred Skills/Experience: Preferred Skills: Starting and maintaining IVs, Congenital Heart Disease/Repair, ECMO, Post Cardiac catheterization, Post cardiac surgery, Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD/RVAD), Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Pediatric CVICU
Special Requests:
- You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
- Cannot have worked permanent staff for Nationwide within the last 2 years.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Every other weekend.
Floating Requirements:
- Will float to NICU, PICU, ED, stepdown, and med-surg as needed. Must be willing to comply with facility float expectations and will be given an appropriate assignment in these areas.
Details:
• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear "Yes" or "No" response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
