    Additional Information

MultiCare includes the expected start date they prefer on their job postings. Please keep this in mind when listing your start date availability. If you can start on the day they are requesting, you are more likely to be selected for an interview or offer.

Please expect someone with a 501 (Arkansas) area code or from the facility to reach out to interview you for this position!

Required Skills/Experience: 2 years of L&D experience with previous travel experience required. High-acuity L&D experience required, including labor management and delivery of high-risk OB patients, OB triage, OR circulation, cervical checks, fetal monitoring strip interpretation, and acting as a second set of hands to receive and recover normal newborns as needed.

Preferred Skills/Experience: 5+ years of L&D experience preferred.

Required Credentials: If you have a multistate license, you will be required to complete a 1-time 6-hour suicide prevention training according to WA state regulations.

Special Requests: Any RTO or special requests not included on your application will NOT be considered. You can only have 1 active application for the same position (same unit and shift at the same facility). Example: if you apply for day shift, you can also apply for night shift on the same unit and facility, but you cannot apply for another day shift position on the same unit and facility. RTO requests must be submitted prior to contract approval. Incidental days off (24-48 hr) must be discussed with the CANM or manager. Cannot guarantee a block schedule. Will be utilized to fill in gaps in schedule.

Unit Details: High-acuity patient population includes hypertension, magnesium administration, C-sections, preterm labor, insulin drips, vaginal deliveries, epidurals, inductions, robust antepartum, PROM, multiple births, and postpartum hemorrhage. Expected to provide full recovery care for both birthing patient and baby after vaginal births and C-sections; a second set of hands may assist at delivery for APGAR assignment, but may not be available to help care for the baby afterward. Up to 300 deliveries per month. Patient ratios per AWHONN guidelines: 1:1 active labor, 1:2 non-active laboring, 1:2-3 antepartum depending on acuity. Unit support includes CNA assistance, scrub techs, HUC/receptionist coverage, phlebotomy support with RN ultimate responsibility, scheduled break nurses, 24/7 RT coverage, and 24/7 laborist coverage with residents/fellows and additional physicians/midwives available. Uses Alaris CareFusion IV pumps, Pyxis, Centricity/Qx fetal surveillance monitors, CAD Solaris epidural pumps, Panda Warmers, and Coviden SCDs.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend, though rotation may vary based on unit need. No mandatory call requirements. May pick up available open shifts as needs arise. Holidays are shared fairly and equitably. Orientation will be during days, even for night shift positions.

Floating Requirements: May float to antepartum within L&D and occasionally to postpartum on the 4th floor; additional assignments may be within scope and experience.

Pre-employment modules may be required for this role. Please upload any certifications or health documents you have to your profile to expedite your on-boarding process.

To help match you with the right jobs, we use AI tools (our own and some from outside partners) to review your application and see how your background lines up with what each role needs. By applying, you agree to let us use your application and personal data for this.
