Required Skills/Experience:

• Previous preop and phase 2 postop experience.
• Competent and comfortable starting IVs.

Unit Details:

• Preop for procedures, including a wide variety of cases from open hearts to port placements and endoscopy patients.
• Phase 2 recovery/postop with discharge education and discharging patients home.
• Utilizes a team nursing approach in the postop area.
• Patient ratios: 2 patients per RN in Preop; up to 3 patients per RN in Phase 2 Postop.
• Uses vital signs machine and glucometer.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Combo of shifts 0530 to 1600 and 0830 to 1900.
• No call.
• No weekends.
