Additional Details:
References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years. Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If clinician has questions, please email the AM. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing. For DC locations – You must have DC license in hand, but certain units accept pending (see JD). MedStar will usually accept a later booking date if you have applied for DC licensure. For MD locations – You must have compact license or MD license.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Administer chemo.
- Telemetry.
- IV starts.
- Interpret/manage dysrhythmias.
- Considering BMT/Heme/Med Oncology experience and/or strong Med Surg experience.
- Must have 2 years experience and one previous travel assignment or one month per diem.
- At least 2 yrs specialty exp (hem/onc, BMT) required.
Required Credentials:
- Will also accept ONS "Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration" course certificate; only ONS accepted.
Unit Details:
- Adult and geriatric patient population.
- Hematology/oncology blood and marrow transplant unit caring for patients with hematological diseases, acute leukemia, multiple myeloma, and general medical/surgical patients.
- Chemotherapy and blood and marrow transplant care.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Rotating day/night shifts. Night 3x12-Hour (18:30 - 07:00); Day 3x12-Hour (7:30 - 18:00).
- Every other weekend.
- Initial schedule is based on unit needs; future schedules may include clinician preferences balanced with unit needs and the requests of other nurses.
Floating Requirements:
- Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.

• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear "Yes" or "No" response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
