You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
Required Skills/Experience: 2 yrs ICU exp or 1 yr Level 1 CTICU exp acceptable. IV therapy, Arterial line management, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, PICC line management, Starting and maintaining IVs, Respiratory/Thoracic, BiPAP/CPAP management/maintenance, Care of Ventilated Patient, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Suctioning (ETT, NT), Ventilator Management, Genitourinary/Renal, Chronic/Acute Renal failure, Medications, Continuous IV sedation, Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring, Titrate Cardiac drips, Titrate Vasoactive drips, Neurological, Professional Topics and Skills, Infection Prevention, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Phlebotomy, Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Management of patient with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, Endocrine/Metabolic, IV insulin protocols, Cardiovascular, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath/intervention
Special Requests: Will accept first-time traveler. Patient population includes STEMI, NSTEMI, post-cath lab, post-AICD/pacemaker, post-op cardiothoracic surgery, post-op thoracic surgery, renal transplant, IABP, Impella, ECMO, post-ENT surgery, trach, laryngectomy, and overflow MICU/NSICU. Highest acuity and specialty equipment patients are cared for by the core staff. Must work at least 50 percent of the holidays that occur during the contract. All RTO must be submitted at time of submission – no exceptions.
Shift & Scheduling: Block scheduling can do 6 on 8 off, or every weekend Fri-Sun. Every other weekend. Ability to take call.
Floating Requirements: ICU Cluster and MS & MS/Tele (1:4). All travelers must float, including as Patient Observers (sitters). ICU may float to PCU or MS units.
Previous Employment Requirements: 9-month gap required between assignments to return as a traveler.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), CVA/Acute Stroke management, Post Cardiac Surgery (Not directly from the OR), Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)*
