Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience:
- Must have prior CV critical care experience.
- Must have stepdown experience and telemetry experience.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Prior CV surgery and vascular surgery population experience (open heart, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, and fem-pop bypass) within a year.
- CVICU experience.
Special Requests:
- Primary patient population is CV surgery and vascular surgery to include open heart surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, Bentall, TAVR), thoracic lung surgery (lobectomy, thoracotomy), esophagogastrectomy, AAA (open and endovascular), fem-pop bypass, and carotid endarterectomies. The unit also receives overflow medical cardiology patients with diagnoses including heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, and heart block.
- Typical procedures include epidural management, chest tube management, tube feedings, IV Glucommander, and cardiac gtt management (phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, ketamine).
Shift & Scheduling:
- No call.
- Weekend requirements minimum: 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday day/night) per 6-week schedule period.
- Flexible to work holiday.
Floating Requirements:
- May float to any stepdown (1:5 ratios) or med-surg (1:6-7 ratios) unit, and ER inpatient holding area (1:6).
