Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Prior CV surgery and vascular surgery population experience (open heart, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, and fem-pop bypass) within a year.
- CVICU experience.
Unit Details:
- Primary patient population includes CV surgery and vascular surgery patients, including open heart surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, Bentall, TAVR), thoracic lung surgery (lobectomy, thoracotomy), esophagogastrectomy, AAA (open and endovascular), fem-pop bypass, and carotid endarterectomies.
- Also receives overflow medical cardiology patients with heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, and heart block.
- Typical procedures include epidural management, chest tube management, tube feedings, IV Glucommander, and cardiac gtt management (phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, Cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, ketamine).
- Uses Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, and various lifts.
Shift & Scheduling:
- No call.
- Minimum 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday day/night) per 6-week schedule period.
- Flexible to work holidays.
Floating Requirements:
- May float to any stepdown (1:5 ratios) or med-surg (1:6-7 ratios) unit, or the ER inpatient holding area (1:6).

• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear "Yes" or "No" response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
