Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.
If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.
Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.
References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
Required Skills/Experience: Must be able to titrate gtts. RNs must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips.
Unit Details: MedSurg/Tele acuity 1:5, possibly 1:6 but that would be rare and would only occur if anticipating a discharge. PCU acuity 1:4. Cardiac patients, CR bands, post cath, AMI, post-op lung surgeries after out of CCU, respiratory failure, chest tubes, pacemakers, post PCI; will not pull sheaths; no art lines. Higher acuity than most telemetry units. Occasional cardiac gtts with titration: Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Integrelin, heparin, Ativan, Lasix, and Nitro up to 50 mcg. Charge nurse available 24/7; on nights the charge nurse takes patients. CNA support is typically 1:9; team nursing model with 1 RN and 1 CNA for 6-7 patients when staffed. CPAP and BiPap only; RT manages. Philips monitors; monitor techs on unit.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend; weekend shifts are Sat/Sun for both days and nights. Holidays rotate with permanent staff.
Floating Requirements: Floats to any MedSurg/Tele unit.
