Preferred Skills/Experience: Experienced ED RN comfortable with the most commonly seen ED chief complaints and care of trauma patients.
Unit Details: Assignment is at Evans Emergency FSED, a freestanding emergency department. Patient ratios are 1:4 or 1:6 based on acuity. PCTs are scheduled mid-shift. RNs and PCTs are responsible for running point-of-care labs. RNs are responsible for setup and adjustment of respiratory equipment for patients, with assistance available by phone from the main hospital. Unit equipment includes cardiac/vital sign monitors in all patient rooms, CT, X-ray, point-of-care lab, BiPAP, and ventilator equipment. Procedures include IV insertion, Foley catheter insertion, NG tube insertion, and assisting providers with various ED procedures common to the ED setting. Frequent admissions to the main hospital from the FSED. Patient experience expectations include AIDET, narration of care, and SBAR for department, admission, and transfer handoff.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend required.
Floating Requirements: Possibility of floating to the main ED.
