Required Credentials:

• PALS or ENPC accepted.
• TNCC or TNS accepted.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• At least 1 prior travel assignment preferred.
• SANE RN experience preferred.
• Experience working in a teaching hospital preferred.

Special Requests:

• At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
• Block scheduling may be accommodated when possible; common patterns include 2 on/4 on rotation or up to 6 shifts in a row.
• Holiday requirements are every other or based on department needs and may be negotiable based on contract request.

Unit Details:

• Level 1 ED caring for newborn through geriatric patients, from minor complaints to critically ill patients, with frequent stroke, heart attack, and cardiac arrest care.
• Level 1/2 trauma patients are stabilized in the trauma bay by a specialized trauma team; travelers may care for trauma patients after transfer to a pod but are not likely to be the primary nurse in the trauma bay.
• Wide variety of titratable drips, including vasopressors, cardiac drips, and antihypertensives.
• Phillips telemetry monitors; ED nurses are expected to interpret and act on patient rhythms.
• Nurses and ED techs draw labs; phlebotomy may draw labs for boarders.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Every other weekend rotation; for 7p-7a, weekends are Sat/Sun.
• No call required.

Floating Requirements:

• If floated to other units, the clinician would function as a help-all only and would not be expected to take a patient assignment; floating is rare.
