Additional Details:
Candidates who have 2+ years of experience, 3 days or less RTO and who can start on date posted in the position can be auto-offered.
Required Skills/Experience:
- At least 2 years recent ER experience.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- 400+ bed or level 2 trauma experience strongly preferred.
Required Credentials:
- Must pass a pre-assignment Basic and Advanced Dysrhythmia (rhythm strip) test with a minimum score of 80%.
Special Requests:
- Can only be submitted to one NMMC position at a time.
- Must not have worked permanent or per diem at NMMC within the last 12 months.
- Expected to maintain the contracted position at NMMC as the primary work commitment above any other type of work.
Unit Details:
- Level 2 trauma emergency department.
- Adult patient population (21+); common presentations include trauma, cardiac, stroke, COPD, asthma, RSV, and abdominal pain.
- Patient ratio: 1:4 (1:6 if ER holds are waiting for inpatient beds).
- Uses SCM and Zoll defibrillators.
- Expected skills/procedures include critical care drip titration, IV starts, ventilator management, IV pump operation, arterial line management, central line management, lab draws, blood culture collections, intubations, and EKG interpretation.
Shift & Scheduling:
- 3/2 rotation.
- No on-call.
- Weekend and holiday requirements.
- Must be able to work 12/24 or 12/25, and 12/31 or 1/1.
- Scheduled based on unit need; complete availability and flexibility with scheduling are required.
- No self-scheduling.
- First week may not have full contract hours.
Floating Requirements:
- Required to float to units within competencies.
