Resume: Each employment history entry must include detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, and whether the facility is a teaching facility.
References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you are applying to.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Recent Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience required.
Required Credentials:
- You are required to pass a Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG exam during onboarding.
- Pass/fail orientation exam on Friday; this is an open-book exam on skills learned with all necessary resources provided. Must receive 90% to pass.
Special Requests:
- Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.
- Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months.
- Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.
- Must live outside 50 miles of the facility.
- Cannot be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility.
- RTO must be submitted upfront and is limited to 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract. Additional RTO will not be approved after submission.
Unit Details:
- Fast-paced, high-acuity Level I trauma emergency department.
- Patient ratios: 1:4 in zones, 1:6 in Fast Track, 1:5 in OBS, 1:1 ICU/Trauma.
- Patient population includes trauma, sepsis, chest pain, shortness of breath, and stroke/TPA cases.
- Common drips seen in a Level I trauma ER.
- Tele/monitor techs are staffed; RNs must read and interpret their own strips.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Weekend requirements vary based on department needs.
- Holiday requirements vary based on department needs.
Floating Requirements:
- Will float to OBS unit and Freestanding Creighton ER at least once a week.
