References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
Required Skills/Experience: Recent Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience required.
Required Credentials: Pass/fail open-book skills exam on Friday during orientation; must score 90% to pass. You are required to pass a Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG exam during onboarding.
Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months. Cannot be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI or Dignity. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. RTO must be submitted upfront; 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract. Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submission.
Unit Details: Fast-paced, high-acuity Level I trauma ED with observation and Fast Track areas. Ratios: 1:4 in zones, 1:6 in Fast Track, 1:5 in OBS, 1:1 ICU/Trauma. Common patient presentations include trauma, sepsis, chest pain, shortness of breath, and strokes requiring TPA. Common drips seen in Level I trauma ERs. RNs must read and interpret their own monitor strips.
Shift & Scheduling: Weekend requirements vary based on department needs. Holiday requirements vary based on department needs.
Floating Requirements: Will float to OBS unit and Freestanding Creighton ER at least once a week.
