Required Skills/Experience:
2 years of Med-Surg experience required.
All nurses working the floor are expected to be able to work in the ER.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
Ability to cover the ER as charge nurse is preferred.

Unit Details:
RNs work alongside another RN to care for Med-Surg, outpatient, and emergency department patients and perform typical RN procedures, including IV starts and Foley catheter care.
Uses a Philips central monitor/telemetry and Lifepak 15; no medication system is available.
Patient ratios vary based on census and whether working charge; they average 1:2 or 1:3, with no more than 1:6.

Shift & Scheduling:
Every other weekend.
Travelers typically work at least one day shift and one night shift during orientation.

Floating Requirements:
RNs float each day between Med-Surg, outpatient, and emergency department.
