    Additional Details:

    References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.

    Required Credentials: Nurses with a compact license must complete a one-time 6-hour suicide prevention training during onboarding according to Washington state regulations. No license hits related to diverting medications or endangerment.

    Special Requests: Up to 10 days off may be requested without hospital approval for clinical prescreening; requests exceeding this amount or involving holidays require hospital approval.

    Unit Details: 4-zone emergency department with 1-2 MST/ED techs per zone, a resource nurse per zone, HUC, charge nurse, triage nurses, protocol nurses, and a patient flow coordinator for EMS check-in. Includes an accelerated care fast-track area. Separate triage area; travelers typically do not do triage unless they complete additional triage orientation and competency testing. RNs manage their own ED holds; RNs from other units may help with long holds. Separate psych/seclusion rooms with 24/7 monitor tech and in-house security. Ratios: 4:1 for main ED, 5:1 for accelerated care/fast track, 2:1 for critical care. Common patient population includes STEMI, stroke, DKA, sepsis, trauma, respiratory disease, and behavioral health. Uses Epic ASAP. RNs draw ABGs, set up small-dose breathing treatments, and perform ECGs with MSTs; RT manages vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow equipment and is always available for consult. RNs are required to transport critical patients. Phlebotomy performed by nurses and MSTs.

    Shift & Scheduling: Variable evening/night report times, primarily 1500 and 1900. Every other weekend. Holidays required. No call.
