Required Skills/Experience:
2 years of continuous MICU experience is required.
Telemetry competency is required, including the ability to read telemetry strips.
2+ years of continuous work experience in one location is required, preferably in a MICU.

Required Credentials:
Contingent/temp licensure is not accepted.

Unit Details:
The adult patient population includes diagnoses such as substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock.
Attending physicians and residents are present in the ICU 24 hours/day.
High-acuity patients have a 1:2 or 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio.

Shift & Scheduling:
Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 hours.
The schedule includes every other weekend.
Night shift does not rotate.

Floating Requirements:
Floating is primarily to Medical/Surgical units, where the nurse-to-patient ratio may be 1:4 or 1:5.
