    Additional Details:

    Required Skills/Experience:

    • Required work setting experience: Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown
    • Required cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills/experience: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, telemetry - on the unit monitoring, use of Rapid Response Teams
    • Required cardiovascular skills/experience: Post cardiac angiogram, post MI, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, sheath removal, TR Band
    • Required gastrointestinal skills/experience: Feeding tube care and management
    • Required genitourinary/renal skills/experience: Pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure
    • Required IV therapy/phlebotomy skills/experience: Accessing ports, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, phlebotomy, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, starting IVs
    • Required medication skills/experience: Heparin protocols, manage cardiac drips - no titration, manage vasoactive drips - no titration, PCA, procedural sedation administration, titrate cardiac drips, titrate vasoactive drips
    • Required neurological/psychiatric case experience: Craniotomy, CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury
    • Required orthopedics case experience: Ortho trauma, peripheral nerve block catheters, total joint replacements
    • Required plastic surgery case experience: Skin grafts, surgical drains
    • Required respiratory skills/experience: Care of ventilated patient, chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, external CPAP/BIPAP, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of ABGs, nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tank, non-invasive airway management, tracheostomy management
    • Required professional topics and skills: Isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac
    • Must be able to take tracheostomies with ventilators

    Preferred Skills/Experience:

    • Teaching hospital experience preferred

    Special Requests:

    • References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years

    Unit/Facility Details:

    • Very fast paced unit with a high amount of patient throughput
    • Adult patients; this is the hospital's only dedicated IMC unit and it takes patients of all diagnoses and all patient types
    • Parking Cost: parking permit required, no cost. Will fill out form during orientation

    Shift & Scheduling:

    • 3x12 nights (1845-0715); able to accommodate 4x12s if candidate prefers
    • Every other weekend
    • No on-call
    • Block schedule accommodations can be discussed with manager

    Details:

    • AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear "Yes" or "No" response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
