References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
Required Skills/Experience: C-section experience required. Must be proficient in fetal monitoring and the actions taken for fetal distress. Must be able to care for patients with pre-eclampsia. Clinical background in high-risk patients. Nurses must be very proficient with assessment skills and be able to handle OB emergencies until the provider arrives. Must be able to function in L&D and couplet care (they don't always utilize their LDRPs as couplet care beds, but can do so if census is low).
Required Credentials: Intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring required.
Unit Details: Uses Allscripts charting. No in-house OB or neonatologist.
Shift & Scheduling: 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule minimum. Some clinicians like to work all weekends and others do not; as long as coverage is met, weekend distribution is flexible. On-call: 1 shift per 4-week schedule.
Floating Requirements: May float to ED or MedSurg if experienced and as needed.
