Special Requests: 72 mile radius rule strictly enforced.
Unit Details: Ratios follow AWHONN guidelines. Uses Meditech and OB Trace. Charge nurses are generally outside the staffing grid. OR techs serve as OB techs, scrub for C-sections, attend vaginal deliveries, and handle stocking. No telemetry or vents. Neonatology and an OB hospitalist are in house 24/7. No IV team; respiratory therapy and pharmacy are available 24/7. Patient population includes high-risk OB, routine OB, and antepartum patients who may remain on L&D before discharge or delivery. Procedures on the unit include C-sections, cerclages, and tubals. Lactation support is available in house.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Holidays rotate with permanent staff. No call for contract staff.
Floating Requirements: Float to post-partum as needed.
