Unit Details:
Patient population includes neonates, infants, adolescents, and adults.
High-acuity obstetric patients include multiple gestations, preterm labor, hypertensive disorders, maternal medical complications, fetal anomalies, and other high-risk pregnancies requiring advanced monitoring and interventions.
C-sections are performed in operating rooms located on the Labor & Delivery floor for rapid access during obstetric emergencies.
The unit works closely with the High-Risk Antepartum and Antepartum units on the same floor.
Postpartum and recovery care are provided on a separate postpartum unit; Labor & Delivery focuses on acute obstetric and surgical patients.
The unit uses advanced electronic fetal monitoring, centralized fetal surveillance, bedside ultrasound technology, obstetric emergency response equipment, and neonatal resuscitation equipment.
Nurses work alongside Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists, neonatology, anesthesia, a dedicated Maternal-Fetal Transport Team, and OB/GYN residents and other learners.
Dedicated social work services support patients and families with complex medical and psychosocial needs.

Shift & Scheduling:
Will accept 3x12s or 4x12s.
Every third weekend.
Call required: 3 12-hour call shifts in a scheduling period.
