Additional Information
Required Skills/Experience: 1-2 years of experience required. Cardiac monitoring experience required.
Preferred Skills/Experience: RN experience with respiratory/vented patients strongly preferred.
Unit Details: CMU is a medically complex rehabilitation unit with cardiac monitoring. Primary patient population includes LVAD, CVA, ABI, SCI, wounds, CAPD, and vented patients. Medical environment, not traditional Med/Surg. Ratios: D/E 1:7, N 1:9. Nurses do not manage ventilators; RTs handle vents. Nurse responsibilities include IV starts, drips, administering blood, EKGs, medication titrations, glucose monitoring, wound vac changes, complex and simple wound dressings, trach care, suctioning, straight cath, foley care, port access, central line dressing care, and wound measurements.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend is required.
Floating Requirements: Will float to like units; for a 12 hour shift, may be on one unit for 4 hours and another for 8 hours. Will float between sister units MRU and CMU.
