Required Skills/Experience:

• Proficiency caring for all patient types across a variety of medical-surgical patients is required.
• Experience with heparin is required.
• Charge experience is required.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Twenty-four months of current Med-Surg, medical-surgical, or Med-Surg/Tele experience is highly preferred.
• Telemetry/cardiac background is highly preferred.
• Precepting experience is nice to have.

Special Requests:

• Former UnityPoint Health employees who were FTEs or PRN members of the UnityPoint Health float pool cannot work a travel assignment in another market, regardless of which facility they currently work at or have worked at within the past 12 months. This restriction does not apply to clinicians who previously worked travel assignments at UnityPoint Health rather than as FTEs or PRN employees.

Unit Details:

• The patient population includes all types of medical-surgical patients.
• Heparin drips are used.
• Telemetry is monitored remotely by a tele tech.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Flexible contract hours: 36 per week may be accommodated if preferred.
• Weekend rotation is every other weekend or every third weekend, depending on staffing/census.
• Unless the unit is closed, contractors are required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.
• No call.

Floating Requirements:

• Required to float across all campuses within the pertinent skill set/unit for which contracted, including Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist.
