Required Skills/Experience: Recent experience at a level 1 trauma center is required. Sterile Processing Tech only: Must have experience at a similar sized hospital (minimum 400 bed size). Surgical Technologist only: Must have Level 1 experience or comparable Level 2 experience (in a larger city/large bed size). Chest tubes. Tubes. Drips such as diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, or amiodarone. Lines/tubes/drains for post-surgical patients. Trachs/laryngectomies. Telemetry experience required. Complex wounds. Central lines - care and maintenance and blood draws.
Special Requests: You can only have 1 active application for the same position (same unit and shift at the same facility). Example: if you applied for day shift, you can apply for night shift on the same unit and facility, but you cannot apply for day shift at the same unit and facility.
Unit Details: Mostly medical patients rather than surgical, including acute and chronic illness such as sepsis, infectious processes, acute kidney injury or chronic kidney disease (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis), diabetes, GI issues, fluid/electrolyte imbalances, alcohol withdrawal, liver disease, substance misuse, endocarditis, heart disease, skin/wound issues, and acute and chronic respiratory illness including COPD, flu, pneumonia, and cystic fibrosis. Adult cystic fibrosis admissions are cared for on this unit.
Shift & Scheduling: Day/night rotation.
