    Additional Details:

    Required Skills/Experience: Special Care Nursery/Level II; start and maintain peripheral IV; assist with circumcision and assess site post-op; car seat education; cord care; discharge teaching to parents; infant identification; IV antibiotics; metabolic screen; neonatal abstinence syndrome; newborn assessment; phototherapy; teach circumcision care to parents; thermoregulation; newborn hypoglycemia; large for gestational age; low birth weight infants; isolation precautions; vaccine administration. Delivery room experience required. Previous Charge Experience: Required. Preceptor experience required. Charge and preceptor duties required. Must have completed at least 1 travel assignment or 1 month of a per diem assignment.

    Required Credentials: For DC locations – You must have DC license in hand, but certain units accept pending (See JD). MedStar will usually accept a later booking date if you have applied for DC licensure. For MD locations – You must have compact license or MD license.

    Special Requests: References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years. Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If clinician has questions, please email the AM. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

    Unit Details: Neonatal patient population.

    Shift & Scheduling: No on-call shifts. Every other weekend.

    Floating Requirements: Will float to postpartum for baby care assignments.
