Additional Details:
Preferred Skills/Experience: Acute care facility experience preferred. Ability to attend deliveries as the NRP nurse preferred, but not mandatory.
Special Requests: Please disclose time-off requests prior to contract acceptance.
Unit Details: Specialty care newborns. Uses Pyxis. Documentation system is currently Cerner and moving to Epic. Primary RN is expected to start IVs unless there are failed attempts. Lab draws most labs except some newborn labs, including metabolic screens and heel sticks for bilirubin. RT and the NICU RN attend all deliveries and cesarean sections. Transfers from L&D to Mother-Baby are completed by the RN. Part-time lactation services support is available; CRNA and the OB hospitalist are in house, with OB and pediatrics on call.
Shift & Scheduling: Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week. Call required if in contract, with a 30 minute response time. May schedule up to 2 weekends in a row, but usually every other, unless there are volunteers who want to pick up more weekend shifts. Night shifts are usually scheduled on consecutive days when possible, while balancing unit staffing needs.
Floating Requirements: You may be required to float to Adventist Health locations within 30 miles.
