References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.
You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
Required Skills/Experience: 2 years of Neuro ICU experience. IV start, telemetry, ventilators, and intracranial pressure monitoring.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Teaching hospital experience is preferred.
Required Credentials: Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
Special Requests: Cannot apply to any Ohio State University facilities if you have an active application to any of the James Cancer Hospital & Research facilities. Paired scheduling with another traveler cannot be accommodated.
Unit Details: Adult patient population. Bedside procedures include tracheostomy, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG), central line and arterial line placement, and EVD placement. Cares for patients with ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, subarachnoid hemorrhages, seizures, neuromuscular diseases such as myasthenia gravis and Guillain-Barré syndrome, meningitis, and post-operative neurosurgery patients undergoing procedures such as spinal surgery, craniotomies, and cerebrovascular surgery. Cares for patients requiring invasive neuromonitoring such as EVD monitoring and ICP monitoring, mechanically ventilated patients, and EEG monitoring.
Shift & Scheduling: Weekend nights every other week. For night shift, weekend shifts are Friday and Saturday nights; Sunday is not considered a weekend shift. Rotation every 4 weeks.
Floating Requirements: Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity. Will be required to float to different units within the OSU organization as needed.
