Required Skills/Experience:
- Float experience does not count towards the unit experience requirement.
- Triage experience.
Unit Details:
- Common diagnoses/treatments include asthma, DKA, neonates with fever, and sickle cell disease.
- Special procedures and skills include moderate sedation, procedure sedation, breathing treatments, chest tube setup/care, CPAP/BiPap, home vents, high-frequency vents, RSI drugs, trach care, vents, blood/blood product administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, cooling/warming blanket, CVP, 12-lead EKG interpretation, rapid transfusions, drains, triple lumen catheters, Port-A-Cath/vascular device access/care, PICC/central lines, PCA pumps, and feeding tubes.
- Cases include burns, cardiac, medical, neuro, PICU, surgical, transplant, trauma, general med-surg, hematology/oncology, and ortho.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Weekends and rotating holidays.
