Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience:
- First-time travelers accepted with a strong pediatric background.
- Central line management and chemotherapy administration required.
Unit Details:
- Patient population includes leukemia, solid tumors, sickle cell crisis, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, behavioral health overlay, and general adolescent medicine.
- RN ratios: Peds Hem/Oncology 1:3-4; Peds Adolescent Medicine 1:4-5.
- Support staff includes CNA, receptionist/HUC, charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV/VAT for difficult peripheral access, variable resource nurse availability, and 24/7 RT, hospitalist, and intensivist coverage.
- Bedside telemetry monitoring; no tele tech available.
- Uses Alaris IV pumps and Omnicell medication dispensing.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Every other weekend.
- Travelers will work 75% of holidays.
- No call.
Floating Requirements:
- Will work routinely between Pediatric Adolescent Medicine (PA) and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology (PHO), and other Brenner units except Peds ED.
