Additional Details:
You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing. References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.
Required Skills/Experience:
- BMT/Cellular Therapy experience required.
- Conscious sedation required.
- First-time travelers accepted with 3+ years of experience.
Special Requests:
- No block schedule requests unless posting states otherwise.
Unit Details:
- Intermediate level of care for infant, pediatric, and adolescent hematology/oncology/bone marrow transplant patients.
- Obstetric patients younger than 18 with a new Hem/Onc/BMT diagnosis are case by case; some pediatric oncology patients may be followed until age 25.
- Presenting diagnoses include leukemia, brain tumors, bone tumors, sarcoma, lymphomas, blood diseases, immunological diseases, storage diseases, bone marrow transplants, and graft-versus-host disease.
- Chemotherapy administration on this unit and others as needed.
- Bone marrow transplant infusion on this unit and PICU as needed.
- Moderate sedation for procedures such as bone marrow aspiration and lumbar puncture.
- Nurses provide Hem/Onc/BMT support on other units, including chemotherapy support, BMT expertise, and central line support.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Every other weekend.
- No call.
- RTO: 1 week max.
Floating Requirements:
- Floating within hospital only; no floating to sister hospitals.
