Required Skills/Experience: Float experience does not count towards the unit experience requirement.

Unit Details: Sees a broad pediatric post-anesthesia population. Short procedures: EGDs, BMTTs, MRIs, T&As, DLBs. Bigger cases: Pectus excavatum repair, spinal fusions, cardiac caths, EVDs, breast reductions, ortho. Skills include arterial lines, trachs/home vents, precedex drips, chest tubes, drains, and foleys. Focus includes airway management, Modified Aldrete Score scoring, assessment/VS, medication administration, and discharge teaching. Phase 1 ratio: 1 on 1 with patients. Phase 2 ratio: 1 on 1 or 1 RN to 4 patients in Stepdown. Works with anesthesiologists for medication orders, signouts, and stat assistance, and with surgeons for discharge orders and instructions, wound issues, and radiology orders.

Shift & Scheduling: M-F schedule. 2 8s and 2 10s per week. PACU start times fluctuate between 0730-0830. Thursdays always start at 0830.
