Additional Information
Required Skills/Experience:
- Crisis intervention: providing immediate, short-term support to patients in crisis (e.g., suicidal ideation, aggression), including de-escalation techniques and appropriate medication management.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Ability to assess patients' mental health status, including recognizing signs of psychiatric disorders, substance use, and behavioral problems. This involves taking thorough patient histories, observing behavior, and using diagnostic tools.
- Developing individualized care plans based on the needs of patients with mental health and behavioral issues, including setting goals, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes.
- Administering psychiatric medications and monitoring for side effects or adverse reactions; knowledge of psychotropic medications.
Unit Details:
- Primary unit cares for adolescent psychiatric patients ages 12-18.
- Monitoring patients for physical and psychological symptoms, including vital signs, mental status changes, and medication effects.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Coverage is needed seven days a week, including weekends. Days off are not guaranteed unless specified in the contract.
Floating Requirements:
- May float among ADOL (ages 12-18), Serenity (lower acuity adult), ITU (higher acuity adult patients with thought disorder diagnoses), SRAD (senior lifestyle), and VINE (lower acuity adult) based on greatest need.
