Required Skills/Experience:
- Experience with ventilators, managing pressors, hemodynamics (PAC, CVP, arterial lines), sheaths, IABP, Impella, and CRRT.
- Must be comfortable caring for occasionally paralyzed and sedated patients using BIS and TOF.
- Ventilator troubleshooting required; must be able to intervene in emergencies such as self-extubation or trach dislodgement, suction competently, and identify issues requiring escalation.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- 3+ years of experience, previous travel experience, and experience in a very busy hospital are preferred.
Special Requests:
- Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.
- Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.
- Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check.
Unit Details:
- Patient population includes heart failure, STEMI, pulmonary emboli, arrhythmias, and MICU overflow.
- RNs titrate epinephrine, norepinephrine, vasopressin, dobutamine, milrinone, amiodarone, Cardene, and occasionally Giapreza.
- RNs interpret their own strips; HP monitors are in use.
- Patient care assistant support is minimal and may be one assistant for the unit when available.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Travelers fill open holes in the schedule.
- Every other weekend required, with occasional exceptions based on staffing needs.
- Schedule requests are accommodated as much as possible while meeting unit needs.
- Days before and after holidays will be required.
- No call.
Floating Requirements:
- First to float to similar units.
