Additional Details:
An interview may not be available prior to offer. References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
Required Skills/Experience: All candidates must have some experience with peds and adults (roughly 50% of the population is peds). Some nurses will work just Peds ER, some just Adult ER, and some do both. For Peds ER, significant Peds ER experience is required, not just general experience. Travelers must have similar experience with the amount of patients seen per day. Must have experience in triage.
Required Credentials: You are required to pass a Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG exam during onboarding.
Special Requests: Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Travel pairs are not accepted. Travelers are expected to work holidays unless the holiday lands during contracted time off.
Unit Details: Ratios: ICU 1:2; Peds 1:4; Adults 1:4; procedural sedation 1:1. All diagnoses from minor walk-ins to critically ill patients, including respiratory failure, asthma, ABD pain, fractures, substance abuse, and some psych holds (maybe 1 per day). Adult ER includes STEMI, CVA, and burn receiving center cases. Peds ER is a receiving center for pediatrics. ED RNs manage their own ER holds. Uses Phillips telemetry with a monitor tech. Fast track is staffed by LVNs and RNs for both peds and adults.
Shift & Scheduling: 4 weekend shifts per month; can be 1 per week or 2 every other week. No call, but may be placed on standby for low census; if called in from standby, response time is 30 minutes. Traveler needs to be flexible with scheduling.
Floating Requirements: First to float. Required to float to Peds ER; no floating outside of the ER.
Travel RN Job Salary & Responsibilities
Your travel RN salary is based on your specialty, experience, and where you secure your assignment. Registered Nurse job descriptions focus on technical knowledge and supervisory skills; attention to detail; and communication with patients, families, and healthcare professionals in critical situations. But, an RN’s responsibilities also require a combination of compassion, patience, and resilience.
This isn’t news to you. You came to Trusted because you’ve tried RN staffing agencies without the personal support you need. This doesn’t surprise us, either. We’re a team of Trusted nurses who’ve been in your shoes (those comfy, non-slip shoes). We’ll help advance your career on your terms.
