Required Skills/Experience:
- Will consider 1.5 years of ICU experience excluding travel if the clinician has significant RN experience outside of ICU.
- Experience with IV medications (vasopressors, sedation, paralytics), hemodynamic lines, proning, ventilator management, and telemetry.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- 2 years of ICU experience excluding travel experience is most preferred.
- Cardiac experience is preferred, including CABG/TAVR 24 to 48 hrs post-op experience; not required for travelers.
- Impella, IABP, and CRRT strongly preferred.
Special Requests:
- You can only have 1 active application for the same position (same unit & shift at the same facility). Example: if you apply for day shift, you can also apply for night shift on the same unit and facility, but you cannot apply for another day shift position on the same unit & facility.
- Requested time off will not be accepted between 8/5/26-8/20/26.
- Must live 100 miles away from any Monument Health facility.
- Permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler.
- No RTO during holidays.
- Up to 7 days of RTO allowed, but the contract must be extended to accommodate a full 13-week contract.
- No RTO during Sturgis Bike Rally (first 3 weeks in August every year).
Unit Details:
- Mixed ICU with MICU, SICU, CICU, and TICU pods.
- Complex ICU patients include surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma.
- Diagnoses include ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, s/p cardiac cath, post-surgical cases, and multiple system trauma; heavy trauma population.
- RN ratios 1:1, 1:2, and rarely 1:3, depending on acuity.
- Fresh open heart cases are generally assigned to permanent staff; travelers may take them only if experienced and approved.
- Could be expected to precept students.
- Uses Alaris pumps (switching to Baxter pumps by October) and Omnicell.
- ICU CRNs place all midlines.
Shift & Scheduling:
- No call.
- Weekend rotation tries for every other weekend, but is not guaranteed.
Floating Requirements:
- Would not float into the CVICU side unless experienced in that unit/specialty.
- ICU RNs may be expected to float to ED.
- Floating is not common unless overstaffed. Could float to any adult floor, including MedSurg/Tele with 1:4 ratio.
