Required Skills/Experience:
An ability to read and interpret strips is required.
At least 1 completed travel assignment is required.

Required Credentials:
An associate degree or certificate is acceptable.
An EKG exam is required during compliance.

Special Requests:
An interview with the unit manager may not be available prior to offer. If you do not interview with the unit manager, you may interview with a third-party clinical nurse manager.

Unit Details:
Observation unit with average stays of up to 48 hours and a high volume of admissions and discharges.
Patient population includes anemia, cellulitis, COPD, dehydration, and pre- and post-operative urology and GI cases.
Common drips include Cardizem, nitro, insulin, and heparin.

Shift & Scheduling:
Every other weekend and every other holiday.
No on-call requirement.
Low census may affect up to 36 hours per contract, in hour increments as needed; it typically occurs in 4-hour increments, and a traveler may be asked to work only 4 or 8 hours of a shift.
Weekly hours are not assured during orientation week or when the unit is closed for holidays.

Floating Requirements:
Float to all inpatient units as needed, including IMC and CTU units.
