Additional Information
Required Skills/Experience: IR and Neuro IR experience for basic to complex cases including bleeds, TIPS, Y-90, carotid stenting, and strokes required.
Preferred Skills/Experience: AAA intervention experience preferred.
Unit Details: Adult-only IR unit performing general IR procedures including kyphoplasty/vertebroplasty, central lines, PICCs, ports, fistulograms, IVC filters, nephrostomy tubes, nephroureteral stents, peripheral leg cases, coil embolization, thoracentesis/paracentesis, cryo procedures, CT biopsies, and drains, plus Neuro IR cases including strokes, embolization, DSA, WADA tests, and spinal angios. RNs provide sedation unless anesthesia is involved and are responsible for monitoring and charting. Uses Alaris, Pyxis, Change Healthcare PACS, Siemens and GE equipment, MedRad injector, IVUS, GE ultrasound, laser, Bovie, and AngioJet. Siemens and GE equipment experience preferred.
Shift & Scheduling: Includes call rotation: 1 weekday call shift per week Monday-Thursday from EOS until 0700 the following morning, and weekend call once every 5th or 6th weekend from EOS Friday until Monday at 0700. Travelers with Neuro IR experience will take Neuro call; otherwise, they will take General IR call. Travelers with both Neuro IR and General IR experience may be asked to take both depending on need. Response time: 30 minutes. RTO approval up to 7 days. General IR call shift: 0700-1530. Neuro call shift: 0730-1600.
