Additional Information
Required Skills/Experience:
- 24 months of current MS/Medical Surgical/Med Surg experience.
- PCA and heparin experience required.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Post-op surgical experience preferred.
- Patient care experience with hip/knee, mastectomies, and abdominal surgeries preferred.
Special Requests:
- Any past employee of UPH who worked as FTE or PRN for the UPH float pool within the past 12 months cannot work travel in another market. Previous UPH travel assignments do not trigger this separation policy.
Unit Details:
- Patient types/cases include hip/knee, mastectomies, and abdominal surgeries.
- Uses PCA and heparin drips.
- Unit has an emotional support canine.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week.
- Holiday rotation required; must work 1-2 of the 3 summer holidays unless the unit is closed: Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.
- Every 3rd weekend.
- No call.
Floating Requirements:
- Required to float across campuses and units to like units across all campuses, including Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist.
