Required Skills/Experience:
Recent Epic experience required.

Required Credentials:
Associate degree or certificate required.

Unit Details:
General Med/Surg population includes gallbladder, colectomy, appendectomy, hip/knee replacements/ORIFs, COVID, GI bleeds, CHF, COPD, sepsis, UTI, and respiratory patients.
Must be comfortable with PIV insertion, chest tube/indwelling drain management, CBI, drip management (heparin, cardizem), PEGs/NGs, ostomy care, remote telemetry, blood product administration, and NIHSS/dysphagia screening.
Ratios: days 1:4-5; nights 1:5-7. Charge nurse takes a full assignment on nights and may take patients on days.
Teaching hospital; may require precepting students and new hires.

Shift & Scheduling:
Every third weekend.
Every other holiday.
Flexible contract hours: 48 per week upon request.

Floating Requirements:
First to float within skillset. May float to Deaconess Newburgh (IN) and Deaconess Midtown (IN). 2 HR notice given for cross-campus float. Mid-shift float within the same campus; cross-campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.
