Required Credentials:
Any hit on your license must be disclosed. Hits will be sent to UVA leadership for approval prior to proceeding.

Special Requests:
Travelers are not eligible to return after reaching 365 total assignment days, regardless of time away.
Unable to approve Christmas RTO.
40 hours of time off can be approved.

Unit Details:
Neurosurgery and otolaryngology/head and neck surgery patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients with stroke, general neurology, neurosurgery, and related surgical cases, including brain tumor resection, subdural hematoma, pituitary tumor, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, laminectomy, and fusion; occasional off-service medicine and orthopedic patients are also cared for.
Remote telemetry is used on select patients; EEG, lumbar drains, EVDs, and ICP monitoring are used occasionally.
The unit can have 8-10 discharges daily with 8-10 admissions from PACU, ED, and ICU.

Shift & Scheduling:
Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week.
Every other weekend; must work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays.

All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment.
